Microsoft Excel spreadsheets have been the management solution for many SMEs for many years. But that's about to change due to the latest news:
Microsoft has decided to remove part of Excel's functionality due to the discovery, by Cisco Talos Intelligence, of a serious security error that could infect the computer with malware or viruses.
This issue could lead to data loss or leakage, remote control of the device or other impacts. Faced with the impossibility of controlling the situation, Microsoft will block part of its functionality, affecting thousands of existing documents.
Many SMEs that depend on these types of documents will be affected and no solution is foreseen in the medium or long term.
In the past, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets have allowed many SMEs to go partially digital. But its continued use has ended up generating problems that create a risk for companies:
Usually many companies choose to choose commercial software to solve these problems. But the reality, as many of them already know, is that comercial software don't usually fit what the company needs. They are complex, require a period of adaptation, are inflexible, expensive and require license renewals and periodic payment fees.
The solution is the creation of custom software, made for the company and belonging to the company:
